Registration for the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS) 2007 is handled by the Institute of Physics. This is to ensure your information and payment is handled in the most secure manner possible and that your registration is processed in a manner that satisfies UK data protection laws. You can pay your registration fee by credit/debit card, cheque, bank transfer or by purchase order. Please note that your registration will not be confirmed until payment is received.
What you should know before you register
Online Registration
Please note that online payment is by credit/debit card only. You will be asked to select your membership status from the membership drop-down menu during registration. Members of Nexus should select "IOP Membership", while IAPS members who are not members of Nexus should select "IAPS membership". Note that online registrations will be accepted only if accompanied by a valid debit/credit card; all payments will be processed securely using World Pay.
Hard Copy Registration
If you are unable to pay by debit/credit card please use the hardcopy registration form, which you can obtain by e-mailing the ICPS 2007 support mailbox at the Institute of Physics (also available online soon).
Please mail your registration form which should be sent together with a payment for fees to the Registrations Department, The Institute of Physics, 76 Portland Place, London W1B 1NT, UK. Alternatively fax your form on +44 (0)207 470 4900.
Payment Methods
Value Added Tax (VAT) - Please note that no extra VAT charges apply to the ICPS 2007 registration fee. The price shown at registration is the price charged to the delegate.
Charges shown in these pages are exempt from VAT, unless otherwise indicated. Where VAT is applicable it is calculated at the current standard rate of 17.5%. If the rate is altered as a result of government legislation charges may be adjusted accordingly. A tax invoice/receipt will be issued upon request. The Institute’s VAT registration number is 461-6000-84.
Payment of Fees - Please note that payment must be received prior to the conference to guarantee your booking. All payments must accompany the hard-copy registration form.
Methods of payment for hard copy registrations:
a) Cheque, Bank Draft: Payable to the Institute of Physics in either Pound Sterling, Euros (rate of 1.46) or US Dollar (rate of 1.80);
b) Bank Transfer: Payable to the Institute of Physics, Lloyds TSB Bank Plc, 9-13 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SE3 1DD;

EUR exchanges to GBP are calculated at a rate of 1.46EUR/GBP. USD exchanges to GBP are calculated at a rate of 1.80USD/GBP.
c) Credit Card: Master/Visa/American Express.In all cases please quote the name of the participant and the conference reference code 775. A copy of the instruction to the bank should be enclosed with the Conference Registration Form. Applications received without payment or details of how payment will be made (see section above on methods of payment for postal registration) will not be accepted.
Conference Registration Fee
Early Registration Fee (up until and including 03 June 07): £100
Late Registration Fee (up until and including 25 July 07): £120
The conference registration fee is £100 for which you will receive shared accommodation at the ICPS accommodation venue for the duration of the conference (6 nights, arriving on 10 August 07 and departing 16 August 07), lunch/dinner each day (excluding the day of the national party), social programme, attendance to one scientific excursion and city tour, attendance to scientific sessions and conference material.
Cancellation Policy
Registrants who cancel their booking before the cancellation deadline of 25 July 2007 will receive a full refund minus a 20% administrative charge. All cancellations must be in writing (please note that organisers cannot accept any cancellation made over the telephone, unless it is accompanied by a cancellation of the booking in writing). No refund can be made to those notifying cancellation from 26 July 2007.
Visas
Visitors from many countries do not require a visa to enter the UK but you should check with your travel agent. Participants who do require a visa should allow plenty of time for their application to be processed. Note the Institute can issue letters of invitation to ONLY those participants giving a presentation at the conference. For those not making a presentation, the Institute will send confirmation of payment upon registration for the conference.
